Grange Hill Reunion
Hi my name is Erkan Mustafa and I used to play the role of Roland Browning in Grange Hill for six years from 1981-1987, some of the best times of my life! Well late last year I had been challenged by my fellow ex cast member of Grange Hill to put a reunion night party for the ex pupils and teachers from the show to celebrate the past 30 years. Never one to turn down a challenge, I started to work on putting the reunion together.

At first it was just going to be for the ex pupils of Grange Hill to meet up have drink and chat and talk about the old days. Until I had an idea! Thinking about this event and talking to some of the old gang it was suggested to me that we should invite the fans of the show to it as well. After all, it was the fans who were the ones who made the show into the success it was. The reunion would bring together the cast and the fans of the show so they could all get together under one roof to chat and share their memory's over the last 30 years. This was going to be big! I need help as this was going to bigger than I had imagined. So I turned to one of the best party planners in London for help. I decided to call on a friend Bert Habib from www.uptownevents.co.uk who had in the past asked about a Grange Hill reunion. I explained to Bert my ideas. He thought they were great, I also told him that I wanted to put on a charity fundraiser for a special little boy I had met around the same time, Bert suggested that we should put on the reunion night for charity.
What a great idea!
So I left it with Bert to find me a venue and put the night together.

Logan
I first met Logan’s mum at a charity night that I was attending, we got talking and she told me about her son who had SMEI or also know as Dravet syndrome a rare, neurological condition that cause severe seizures that are difficult to control. In short a life threatening life shorting illness that has no cure. I wanted to know more about this syndrome, so when I reached home that night I jumped onto the internet to find out more. I learned that night that all children suffering with from SMEI have varied forms of seizures. What I had read shocked and saddened me and made me aware of how little was known about this illness. I asked his Mum some time later if I could come to meet Logan, to find out more about him. My first meeting with Logan was an eye opener, how strong, how brave and how special he was to his parents. Over a cup of tea and a chat, I came to learn so much of his illness and that of his need. I asked his mum if I could help in anyway. "A cure" is what I thought she would say but no. All she wanted was just a multi sensory room for him to be able to play freely, safely and independently, just like any other 5 year old can play. I came away from meeting Logan and I was touched by him, his braveness and most of all his smile. On the way home from meeting, I said to myself that Logan will get the room that he needs. Also I decided that I would like to help a cancer hospice, as most of us have lost a loved one to cancer. So it was ageed that we would donate to the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care unit in London. So we had decided that Logan and cherrylodgecancercare.org.uk will benefit from the Grange Hill reunion charity night.
The Reunion Venue
Bert called me to tell me that he has spoken to the manager of www.soundlondon.com in the heart of London’s Leicester Square and that he has agreed that we could have of the use of the club for free on Thursday The 8th of October. So, we have the club and have agreed the times the date and the music which we will play and also how much the tickets will cost.
If you would like to come to this event, please check out all pages of this site to find out more.
I have tracked some cast members through Facebook and with the help of www.grangehillfans.co.uk, but still haven't found that many. So if any of you can help me find the rest of the cast, please contact me through this site. Your help would be appreciated so much.
Thank you.
